1998 Chevrolet Corvette Driver Narrowly Escapes Fiery Wreck

CHIPPEWA TOWNSHIP, Pa. —

A 1998 Corvette Indy Pace Car rolled over and caught fire on June 21, 2015 near the Chippewa entrance ramp onto I-376.

A witness told Channel 11 News that two bystanders pulled the trapped victim from the burning car.

The victim was taken by ground ambulance to Beaver County airport to meet up with a medical helicopter.

The witness also said that the car had just passed her and her boyfriend at a high rate of speed when the driver lost control and rolled over in a ditch.

The vehicle had a logo on the side stating that it was an official pace car for the Indianapolis 500.

The condition of the victim is unknown at this time
