Corvette driver trapped in vehicle after crash

Scottsdale, AZ - A two-vehicle collision Tuesday in downtown Scottsdale sent a Chevrolet Corvette crashing into a light pole, temporarily trapping the driver.
The man was not seriously injured in the accident on Second Street, east of Scottsdale Road, said Scottsdale police spokesman Sgt. Mark Clark, but fire crews were called out to help remove the driver from the wreckage.
It is unknown how many people were riding in the second vehicle, a Ford sedan, but Scottsdale Fire Department spokeswoman PattyJo Angelini said two woman, ages 42 and 80, were transported to a local hospital following the collision. No additional information was available about their condition.
Clark said police closed the eastbound lanes of Second Street at Scottsdale Road immediately following the accident, which occurred at about 8:50 a.m.
Police were investigating the cause of the accident.
