Sanguine Vette lovers ride out GM's fall

Corvette owners who gathered in the Broadway at the Beach parking lot Saturday were sad that General Motors, once the largest corporation in the world, wound up in bankruptcy court last week even after scuttling some of its famous and innovative brands.

But they were glad their dream rides have so far escaped GM's efforts to downsize and cope with a changing market.

And so were people who turned out to view the show of more than 150 Vettes, which ranged from models cranked out by GM plants in the 1960s to the sleek muscle cars that came off the assembly line this year.
