LAPLACE, La. (WGNO) – In LaPlace today, folks were picking up the pieces of the severe storm which uplifted trees, removed roofs, and caused a lot of destruction. They still don’t have power there, and aren’t expected to get until later on tomorrow.
News with a Twist Reporter Kenny Lopez went to the Indigo Estates subdivision, where dozens of homes were destroyed by the possible tornado.
The winds whipped up havoc in Carl Terry’s neighborhood, leaving his house in shambles, but not his spirit.
“I’m kind of numb right now. I’m trying to put everything together. I’m safe. My wife is safe. Our kids are safe. That’s the most important thing. Let’s just get it all back together, and everything will be alright,” he said.
He lost the roof to his home and there is severe damage to the interior. Although, among all the wreckage there is a bright spot. Carl’s cherry-red Corvette wasn’t destroyed.
