National Corvette Museum Hits Milestone In Reconstruction

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. (WBKO) — As one of Bowling Green’s biggest attractions, a historic milestone is achieved as crews continue construction on the sinkhole at the National Corvette Museum.

Around 4 o’clock this morning, crews began pouring the first concrete slab on top of the dirt filled hole.

This is one of two concrete sections advised by the structural engineer, allowing a control joint to provide more stability.

“We’ve divided the room in half basically. We’ve poured between 200 and 225 cubic yards of concrete this morning. Crews will be working all day long finishing that,” said Zach Massey, Project Manger.

The second slab pour is expected to be complete in two and a half weeks.

Massey says so far, the key milestone dates are on track.
