Corvette Product Manager Harlan Charles discusses the second generation of Corvette. The “Sting Ray” generation was championed by GM’s second vice president of design, Bill Mitchell, after observing the way stingrays swim so gracefully through the water. Though this was the shortest Corvette generation, fans will undoubtedly remember its defining features, such as the split-window on the 1963 Corvette and the introduction of the big block V-8 engine.
