Andy’s ’69 Stingray was built, he says, as a tribute to the ZL1. Except, instead of using an actual ZL1 block and a rational 427 cubic-inches, he uses the aftermarket Donovan aluminum block (made famous in Pro Stock) punched out to 540ci. He tops that with a set of Dart Pro1 325cc aluminum (or “aluminium”) heads and electronic fuel injection, so that he can drive it anywhere, anytime. Among those places includes the road course, which is quite a challenge controlling 755hp and 734 lb-ft of torque. The Stingray rides on CCW 18-inch wheels with sizeable meats and a combination of C6 and Wilwood binders to keep it under control. The trans is a Tremec TKO-600 5-speed manual.
