NASCAR champion Jimmie Johnson went in a different direction as he worked with Chevrolet to personalize and update a 1971 Corvette (C3). As part of the transformation, the car was equipped with an LT1 crate engine, a Super Magnum six-speed manual transmission, an adjustable coilover suspension and high-performance brakes from the previous-generation Corvette Z06.
The car has also a new hood, restyled front fenders and 18-inch wheels that resemble the original 15-inch rally wheels from 1971. Other highlights include leather / suede seats, a suede-wrapped steering wheel and carbon fiber interior trim.
